U21 Championship is off the mark!   11/02/2013

Well the championship season has started and this past weekend saw the beginning of this years U21 Hurling Championships being held with plenty of action and drama.

In the U21 A, there was 4 matches held. Cappataggle proved too strong for Ardrahan in their clash, while Turloughmore held the balance of power in their clash with rivals Castlegar. Loughrea got the better of neighbours Kilnadeema-Leitrim in their match, while the keenly contested match between rivals and neighbours Clarinbridge and Craughwell fell the way of Clarinbridge, as they inflicted an early defeat on the current U21 A holders.

In the U21 B championship, there was wins on Saturday for Portumna over Kinvara, and Rahoon-Salthill over Oranmore-Maree. Yesterday saw two other matches being played, with Cois Fharraige scoring a very good win over Killimor, while Abbeyknockmoy got past the challenge of Moycullen thanks to the four goals scored.

The other matches fixed were called off due to the weather and pitches unplayable, while the Gort v St. Thomas match wasnt fixed due to St. Thomas's involvement in the All-Ireland Club championship.
