Two Galway colleges grouped together for Fitzgibbon Cup   12/12/2012

After a hectic couple of months of action in the 13 Irish Daily Mail Higher Education GAA Leagues the focus for students will now switch to championship fare.

Those who reach the Fitzgibbon Cup semi-finals will be heading west to be hosted by GMIT on March 2nd/3rd. UL will be hoping that league success will lead to championship honours as it did for UCC last season. IT Carlow and UCD also emerged as potential finalists following strong league performances while the inclusion of 2012 Ryan Cup champions Mary Immaculate College, Limerick in this season's competition necessitates one group of four in the group stages.
