Loughrea qualify for Junior A final   08/11/2012

Loughrea's fine hurling year continues as their Junior hurlers last weekend qualifed for this years GULLANES HOTEL JUNIOR A Final. The Lakesiders beat old rivals Mullagh in a tough game on a scoreline of Loughrea 1-14, Mullagh 2-7. The Loughrea lads are now back on track to repeat their win of 2009 and will now wait and see who they play in the decider.

Barna-Furbo also waiting, as they have another week to wait to see who they meet in the other semi-final. The fourth quarter-final between Portumna and Castlegar has yet to be decided, as that match originally ended in a draw a few weeks back and although the two sides met last Sunday, the outcome was indecisive and a rematch is being played this coming Saturday.

The two sides from Castlegar and Portumna must know each other inside out by this stage, and we can expect another very close battle on Saturday, as it appears that there is nothing that can separate the two sides.
